How to Use This Project
Welcome to Quarantine Quilts! Use this in any way that supports your spirit or your work - we have some suggestions below. Contact us to do a workshop or event with us.
Quilts may be made of images or plain text: artwork, photographs, collage, or memes, but files must be .jpgs or .pngs. Use photos that you took yourself, or fair use photographs. You may also use images from the CONABIO image bank (http://bdi.conabio.gob.mx/fotoweb/ ), as we used in the 2020 UN World Oceans Day quilting workshop. Many thanks to the CONABIO image bank for giving our participants permisson to use their beautiful photographs.
If you are using this as a class project, you can give your students a prompt that relates to topics you are teaching. Please make sure they credit the creators of the images (in the quote) if it isn’t their own work. Each team should fill out one upload form if groups are making a group quilt.

SDG 14: Make a quilt using art or photographs to show SGD 14: Sustainable Oceans
Oceans Solutions: Show solutions for the oceans in art, photographs or memes.

Citizen Science
Time-Lapse: Show a time lapse of a plant growing in your home or neighborhood, or the phases of the moon.
Quarantine science images: One temporary side benefit of the quarantines is that air and water is cleaner. Can you find an example of this in your neighborhood or an image from online?
Climate
SDGs & Climate Communications: Make each square express one Sustainable Development Goal, or the whole quilt show one SDG. Communicates something that is a solution to that SDG, or simply what that SDG means.
Climate Solutions: Create or design something that will be a climate solution and show in 9 images, what it is.
Sustainable meals: Share images of your favorite sustainable and meatless meals.
Heroes of the Climate: Find photos of people who are working on climate change.
COVID-19
COVID-19: Create or design something that will be a COVID19 solution and show it in 9 images.
Post-COVID-19 Visions: Create a collage showing your hopes for a post-COVID19 world.
Quarantine: What do you miss most during the quarantine?

Face masks: Show portraits of different people in their masks, either people you know or from the news.

Share your work with the world!
Portraits
Create a quilt of people from your life, or from one period of history, an event, or an issue. Show 9 different people, 9 images of one person, or create one image of one person made up of 9 squares. Work alone or in a team. Use photographs, collage or drawings.
